ONLY IF YOU’RE SERIOUS…

If…Goals 2015

You are serious about having a more productive year.

If…

You are serious about reaching your goals.

If…

You are serious about achieving more that you did in 2014.

Follow these 5 steps.

Write down three things you want to accomplish in 2015.  Be specific and put a date on them.  For example:  I want to lose weight or get in better shape is very non-specific.  I want to lose “X” number of pound and be able to do “X” number of sit ups, by April 1st, is a specific goal.  I want to double the revenue in my business, by adding “X” number of customers each month by doing “Y” every week and “Z” every day, is a specific goal.

Describe on paper why each goal is important to you/your family.  Do this in detail.  Take some time with this step.  Describe how you will feel when you have achieved your goal.  What changes it will mean in your life.  What types of things you will now be able to do because of your achievement.  This should be at least several paragraphs and should include things you are extremely passionate about such as the ability to put your children through college, or provide for your parents in their aging years.  The more passionate the reason, the more likely you will achieve your goal.  To understand this step better, read this post.

Dedicate yourself to being successful in these areas.  Understand it will take time and that it will be the small things you do EVERY DAY that will ultimately get you across the finish line.  Find and use tool that will help you achieve your goals.

Read your goals out loud EVERY DAY, in the present tense.  “On April 1st, I am doing 100 sit ups and 50 push ups. I have a waist size of 31.  I eat well every day. My pants fit comfortably and I feel good about my health and my body.”

An unwritten goal without a date is not a plan.  It’s a dream.  Dreaming is something we do when we are asleep.  Get serious about your success in 2015.

All five of these steps are extremely important.  Eliminating any one of them would be like eliminating a tire from your car.  Pay special attention to reading in the present tense (I am, I have, I do) and not in the future tense (I will, I want, I hope, I am going to).  A great philosopher once said that “tomorrow never comes.”  It’s true.  The future is just that, the future.  Your brain will process the present tense speech in such a way as to make it become real.

Expect to stumble.  Most everyone does.  It’s okay, as long as you don’t make it your reality.

I wish you the best year ever in 2015!
