ARE YOUR LEGS UNBALANCED?
Growing up, our kitchen table was supported by 4 legs and there always seemed to be an empty matchbook or something under one of the legs to get rid of the “wobble.” If you’re like most people, a wobbly table, or chair can drive you crazy, at least I know it does me. Just like that wobbly table, our lives can feel wobbly when we are out of balance in one or more phases of our life. Do you remember those moments in your life when EVERYTHING seemed to go well? No matter what you touched, things came easy for you and it felt as if everything was just right. The moon was in the seventh house, Jupiter was aligned with Mars…
But then there were other periods when NOTHING went right. No matter what you did, fumbling and bumbling, or even failure seemed to be your life’s theme. It’s possible that, for you, this is how life feels most of the time. Or perhaps life just gets out of sorts on occasion and it’d be great to be able to get it back on track.
I believe there are 4 parts to our complete health, which are deeply interconnected. Each part can have a ripple effect on the other, just as one domino would on another.
Physical Health: This is likely the most obvious for many people. It has to do with our external physical appearance, but also our internal physical health. It can effect our emotions, our minds, how clearly we think, how much energy and drive we have, and how we feel.
Emotional Health: This is how we view the world according to us, and how we allow external factors to effect our well being.
Social Health: The way we interact with others, external stimulus, our environment, and who we keep as our close circle of friends, are the social factors that effect us.
Spiritual: While for some of you this may have more to do with religions views or your faith, that’s not what I am referring to here. This is more about what your higher purpose is in life and if you are on the path on which you are meant to be. It is about your connections and values.
When all four parts of our lives are working with equal energy, while pointed in the same direction, our lives can seem almost effortless. When even one is either missing or out of congruence with the others, we get easily derailed and even normal things can seem in disarray. It causes you to feel like you are trudging through molasses or climbing up hill. These are the times that it seems as if nothing is going your way. In the coming weeks I’ll dig a little bit further into each of these four areas of our over all health. I am not a doctor, nor do I claim to have any type of medical expertise. These are idea I have found to be true in my life and perhaps you will in your’s too. Next week I’ll tackle physical health, so stay tuned and stay plugged in!
